I was so excited when I found out Jenni Bara was going to make a book for the grumpy pitcher that was featured in her book Mother Maker. This book did not disappoint! Watching his “friendship” with Avery grow over the course of a year was so cute and grossly adorable. I loved it.

Christian, our grumpy (but a teddy bear for Avery only), was a great MMC to read about. Not only was he adorable when interacting with Avery, but also when he interacted with Puff the Puffin. So cute!

Avery, the sunshine to the grumpy, had such a great personality… Although she was pretty oblivious to Chris’ actions throughout her year of no dating rule, it was sweet to watch her slowly fall for our grumpy MMC. It was also interesting to see how this would develop with her father being Chris’ coach, but you have to read to see how that plays out!

The Fall Out had all the laughs and sweet moments I needed in this book, and the addition of the puffin, Puff Daddy, tied everything together with a nice lil bow. One thing that Jenni Bara is good at is including little Easter eggs of what’s to come for her next books… so I am so excited to see what happens next for the Boston Revs 🤩

Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️ (more like one and a half as there were only two scenes, but a half a pepper isn’t an emoji so I’ll round up)

Tropes Include: *Grumpy/Sunshine *One Couch *Coach’s Daughter *Friends to Lovers *Baseball Romance

Side Note: If you have not yet read the Mom-Com Series you need to! I will have a separate book review on that series in a few days. But to tease, a group of friends (including Jenni Bara), decided to have each member of the friend group write one book in the series and thus the Mom-Com was born. The first book in the series starts with Mother Faker so make sure to read it in order!

Happy reading friends!
