Book-Inspired Workouts

A book workout challenge I am currently in the process of completing is the 10,000 steps Nesta Archeron took to get to the House of Wind in A Court of Silver Flames by S.J. Maas on the Stairmaster… I know what you’re thinking, and the answer is yes, I might be certifiable for completing this but there is more than one version of this challenge. I have seen this challenge completed in three modes that I like to call Easy, Medium, and Hard.

Easy Mode: 1,000 steps per week to = 10,000 steps after 10 weeks

Medium Mode: This mode is what I am currently attempting as I can do more than 1,000 steps in one go but also don’t have the endurance yet to do 10,000 steps… Thus, I created my weird version of this. On day 1 I started with 1,100 steps. Every other day I go on the Stairmaster for as long as I can until I increase the amount of steps more than the previous time. On my “off days” I do weight training and only 20-30 mins on the Stairmaster (the focus is more on the time rather than the amount of steps for these days)

Hard Mode: Starting with 1,000 the first week and increasing each week (or day if you’re crazy) so that by week 10 you are walking 10,000 on that Stairmaster at once. If you’re crazy and somehow have the endurance of an Illyrian, then by day 10 you would be walking 10,000 on the stairmaster.

Naturally, if you found this website, you probably also follow BookTok and Bookstagram accounts. One of my favorite places to find book-inspired workouts is through BookTok and even Bookstagram. @mmikareads is one of my favorites as she incorporates heavy-lifting workouts inspired by many of our favorite books. @literay_fit is another great BookTok account to check out! She has a 4-week program called The Curse Breaker and while it does cost money, it is a solid workout program (tested by yours truly).

Book-Inspired Recipes

When I think of book-inspired recipes, the first idea that comes to mind is a whole-ass Bridgerton High Tea. I say whole-ass because it’s a bunch of stuff rolled into one event. So not really a recipe, but we are gonna roll with it… To host a Bridgerton High Tea one must have the following:

  1. Finger Sandwiches: Cucumber, Chicken Salad, Egg Salad
  2. Assorted Desserts: macaroons, mini cakes, scones and danishes, etc.
  3. TEA (duh): any kind of tea
  4. Fancy Dresses… this one is self-explanatory tbh.

As a child, I am sure we ALL wanted to try some of the food seen/described in the Harry Potter movies/books. The Nook On 32 has a list of 21 food ideas that are Harry Potter-inspired. I have not had the opportunity to try all of these, but now that I have a blog, I definitely will be doing that.
